PROJECT FUNDING INFORMATION

Project Cost and Funding
In the last federal transportation reauthorization
bill, Oregon City received a federal earmark to plan and design improvements for Hwy 213 between I-205 and the Redland Road
overcrossing. The 2009 Oregon Legislature provided $22 million for the Jughandle project through the 2009 Oregon Jobs and
Transportation Act (JTA).
2009 Oregon Jobs and Transportation Act (JTA)
The 2009 Oregon Jobs and Transportation Act (House Bill 2001) is the transportation funding plan approved by the
2009 Oregon Legislature. Three core themes emerged from the legislation:
Accountability,
innovation and environmental stewardship;
Highway, road and street funding; and
Multimodal funding.
Additional provisions address important elements of Oregon's
transportation system and our statewide economy.
The JTA identified 37 specific highway projects
(plus funding for 12 local governments in eastern Oregon). These projects and allocations total $960.3 million. Within the
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Region 1, there are eight (8) JTA projects, including the Hwy 213 at Washington
Street Jughandle Project. For information on other ODOT JTA projects, please visit http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/JTA/index.htm.
